An early Adams & Westlake No. 39 brass top bell bottom model with 1865 Westlake dates stamped in base. Lid reflector is nicely embossed "B. C. & F.R. R.". This early model has a chimney bail, pointed and vented brass cap, and sliding globe holder in chimney. The bayonet fount is correct for this model. The frame is painted black over medium-heavy pitting, and there are perforations in the lid reflector and base. The leaf style latch spring has separated and needs to be re-soldered. The base wants a glass fount, but there is a tin fount in the holder cup with a No. 1, twin-tube whale oil burner. The globe is a vintage, orange-amber color (yellow signal) No. 39 style with no marking present.

Condition: (Fair).

Item Dimensions: 11 - 1/2" x 7" x 7".
