A nice Thompson's pat. lantern made by Peter Gray of Boston. The lid reflector is beautifully embossed "N.Y.N.H & H. R. R." in classic Thompson dog bone font. This frame is the large, fixed base version with double globe guard and correct plug-in fount with No. 1 callendar burner affixed. The bail is broken on the right side where it attaches to the saddle. The flashed red globe is a New England barrel style, nicely embossed "NYNH&HRR" in block font. There is some minor top fitter damage that doesn't show in the frame. Although the barrel globe has acceptable fit in this frame, it's not the technically correct type for this model. There is light pitting overall, and this unit is display-ready.
