A nice Thompson's pat. lantern made by Peter Gray of Boston. The lid reflector is beautifully embossed "CONCORD R. R." in classic Thompson dog bone font. This frame is the small, fixed base version with double globe guard and correct plug-in glass fount with No. 1 whale oil burner affixed. The dimple that centers the bail saddle screw in the dome top has been removed so the screw doesn't secure as it should. The flashed red globe is a New England barrel style, nicely engraved "C.R R" in serif font. There is some minor top and bottom fitter flaking that doesn't show in the frame. Metal condition is smooth, and this unit is display-ready.
