A scarce Parmelee & Bonnell double wire, brass top bell bottom model with bayonet base, ca. early 1870s. P&B characteristic 1871 date stamp is present on the lid reflector in the rear hinge area. This unit is not manufacturer hallmarked like some. The lid reflector is nicely embossed "L. S. & M. S. RY" in typical P&B serif font. The bayonet base is correct for this model and includes a functioning No. 1 ratchet burner. This model takes a unique globe with a No. 2 base and a ring at the top fitter. The clear globe is nicely embossed "LS&MS Ry", and has minor chipping and wear from RR use. The frame shows light pitting and a little rust. The brass top has a few very minor edge splits. If you're looking for something unique from the Lake Shore Road, this is it. A very nice unit all correct and complete.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 11" x 7" x 7".
