Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight, left side of slide with 2-line 2-block patent and address information, right side with "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY". "H" stamped on the top of the firing pin retaining plate. Frame is only marked with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over serial number; this is not a font Colt used and it is our opinion that this is a replacement frame. Barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on left side of chamber, "P" on left lug. Left side of trigger guard marked "9", top of frame marked with subinspector style proofs. Small parts comprise spurred checkered hammer, thick tab safety, checkered slide release with milled relief undercut, long smooth trigger, checkered magazine release, short grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 piece fibre grips with internal reinforcing ribs and thick rings. Fully parkerized magazine with "A" on lip for American Pin Co.. Housed in a Grafton & Knight jolster dated 1942. CONDITION: Very good as contemporarily parkerized, with some softness to legends and edges as a result. Some handling marks throughout, including some silvering to operational areas and high edges. Front sight recontoured. Grips are good with numerous bumps and nicks throughout. Mechanically fine, bore has frosting throughout and softened rifling.
