An 1889 pat., Adams and Westlake No. 11 steel guard model with correct bayonet fount (has 1882 A&W patent stamp) and bent No. 1 ratchet burner affixed. There are some perforations in the fount. A couple of the verticals are loose at the top ring. The lid reflector is nicely embossed "UNION PACIFIC". The globe is a scratchy, cloudy, No. 39 extended base example, and has a significant chunk missing from the base fitter. The base fitter damage does not show when in the lantern. The globe is embossed "Union Pacific" in average relief.
