Circa 2000. An Italian-built 28 gauge sporting game gun with 28" mono-bloc blued steel barrels, 2 - 3/4" chambers. Built on a true scale 28 gauge frame, auto-ejectors, single selective mechanical gold washed trigger, barrel selector is incorporated into the safety slide, and automatic safety. Tapered file cut top rib with a brass front bead and a solid side rib. Italian proofs on the left side of the barrels and the barrel flat. The left side of the top barrel is also marked with the importer "NEW ENGLAND ARMS KITTERY PT. ME." Left side of the jeweled barrel near breach is marked "28.70". The coin-finished boxlock action has light scroll hand engraving with a blued pierced top lever. The bottom of the action body is also gold inlaid with "N.E.A. inside a double-lined gold inlaid oval that is interrupted by 2 birds in flight and "LX 900" also is gold inlaid. The right side of the trigger plate is engraved "CA" The beautifully figured reddish-brown deluxe Turkish walnut stock has a half pistol hand grip (round knob), 2-panel checkering ending in a plastic buttplate. Game forend with Anson-style push-button release. Weight: 5 lbs. 14 oz. Choke: T - MULTI, B - MULTI. CONDITION: Excellent in near new condition. Barrels retain 98-99% original blue. Buttstock and forend with minor handling/storage marks. Trigger guard, top lever and safety slide approximately 98-99% blue. Mechanics crisp. Bores bright and shiny. Likely only fired at the factory.
