Manufactured as a supplement to the standard Colt 1911 sidearm during World War I, this double action revolver utilizes the same .45 ACP cartridge via moon clips. Standard military configuration with blued finish, 5 - 1/2" tapered pinned round barrel stamped on bottom "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", half-moon front sight, U-notch rear, 6-shot fluted cylinder, case hardened trigger and hammer, flaming bomb proofed frame stamped "U.S./AMRY/MODEL/1917" on butt, lanyard loop, and smooth walnut 2-piece grips. CONDITION: Very Good. Vast majority of factory-applied blued finish is retained with some light thinning and high edge wear, in addition to a dragline and scattered marks. Case colors starting to fade. Grips have some minor handling marks with wear around the base. Good bore and mechanics. BAS
