Lot consists of: (A) 4 German World War II Infantry Assault Badges produced of die struck zinc by the maker Deumer. The badges each contain varying amounts of their original bronze brennlack finish. The badges all have their original hardware which is function properly. CONDITION: Excellent to near mint. (B) 2 German World War II Black Wound Badges die struck from steel. Both badges have most of their original black paint. Both badges have their hardware attached and functions properly. CONDITION: Excellent for both. (C) A piece of cardboard with a General Assault Badge and Black Wound Badge attached to it with brief descriptions from the liberating veteran underneath of each respective badge. The General Assault has lost most of its original finish. Hardware is intact and functions. The Black Wound Badge is made of steel with paint loss. Hardware is attached and functions. To note is that this exact piece of cardboard containing the badges can be seen in a period photo of the veteran's daughter, while she wears a German Paratrooper helmet. Of interest in the photo is the condition of the General assault badge which, at the time, was stunning. CONDITION: Excellent. PROVENANCE: Lt. Robert A. Bonner Collection. DMW
