Circa 2002. An Italian built 12 bore scalloped boxlock action with 26 - 1/2" mono-bloc blued steel barrels that are fit with ejectors and a tapered, smooth, concave game rib with a brass front bead sight. The top of the right barrel is engraved "COLE INC HARPSWELL, MAINE." The top of the left barrel is engraved "ARMI F.LLI. POLLI - GARDONE V.T. ITALY". Bottom of the barrels and barrel flats have Italian proof marks and serial number. The barrel flats are jeweled. The coin finish action body is adorned with border scroll with rose bouquets engraving and a pierced top lever. Bottom of action body with a woodcock in a woodland vignette, border scrolls around the trigger plate and "FLLI POLI GARDONE VT". The scalloped boxlock action features, non-automatic safety with "S" engraved just forward of the checkered safety slide and a trigger guard extending to a long bottom strap with serial number "1787" protecting the double triggers. Action body water table is also jeweled. The traditional English straight hand gripped reddish-orange Turkish walnut stock with smoky contrast figuring has 2 panel point pattern checkering and a black leather covered recoil pad. Splinter forend with similar point pattern checkering and Anson style push button release. Gun resides in a Piotti aluminum travel case by Americase, Piotti logo embroidered on inside of the top lid. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain 90% blackening with rub marks from forend and bores are bright and shiny. The stock and forend have handling and storage marks. Triggers are crisp, barrels tight on face, and ejectors timed well. Case is also in very good condition with some use and storage marks. (CP)
