This is a scarce chance to acquire a full Union cavalry belt rig with holster, cap box, pistol and carbine boxes, with all slings and plate in place and matching. The buff saber belt is complete with both slings and the matching shoulder belt. Belt plate and hasp have matching bench numbers. All slide tighteners in place. The user added small swivel snap hooks to the ends of the slings for easier attachment to the saber. The belt has light ink maker stamp that seems to be J. Davy & Co. of Newark, N.J. The Colt 1860 Army holster is marked by Davy as well and is complete with latch tab and toe plug. Pistol cartridge box is mid-war medium size, for both .36 and .44 caliber revolvers. No markings. Cap box unmarked. Side ears and belt loops in place. Carbine box with block in place, Gaylord and inspector marked. CONDITION: Excellent. Belt is flexible and complete. Black dye has oxidized to brown. The buff shoulder belt is usually missing from these rigs Holster is excellent with good color, crazing to black finish but no losses. Good marking. Cap box with nice color and black finish. No fleece or pick. Pistol and carbine boxes more brown in tone, with minor rubs and areas of abrasion. This is very nice set ready to display on a cavalry uniform.
EXCELLENT COMPLETE CIVIL WAR CAVALRY BELT RIG.
