Lot consists of 8 tintypes of soldiers from Western Pennsylvania, not described in order illustrated. (A) Oval tinted portrait, soldier seated, wears veteran stripe. Thermoplastic figural case. CONDITION: Very good. Slight solarization band. Good clarity. (B) Double case image seated soldier in frock with cap on lap and wife at left. Figural thermoplastic case. CONDITION: Excellent. The following four are 9th plates in leatherette cases, hinges taped. (C) Waist up view, frock and cap. CONDITION: Good. Somewhat dark. Buttons and scales gilt. (D) Half length seated, soldier with musket at right, holds pepperbox across chest. CONDITION: Good. (E) Waist up, soldier in frock. CONDITION: Good. Slightly dark. (F) Seated line officer, frock open, Hardee hat with infantry bugle and plume. CONDITION: Good. The following 2 are uncased sixth plates. (G) 2 new recruits, full standing with muskets and bayonets fixed. Military caps but civilian clothes. CONDITION: Good. Dark. (H) 3/4 length standing. Soldier in fatigue blouse with long pocket kerchief, wearing fatigue cap. CONDITION: Good. Background dark, figure with good clarity. Corners clipped for album insertion.
