Lot consists of: (A) Civil War double bag, soft-pack, knapsack. CONDITION: Fair. 2 straps replaced, black tape mended tear along upper back, small buckle and chape missing, but an original Union army issue knapsack. (B) 1860s-1870s Militia or National Guard Shako. Stiffened black felt body with enameled leather top, visor, chinstrap, etc. Brass front plate with cannon, spears, starburst, and black center for unit designation. CONDITION: Excellent. Nice color. Sweatband, etc. in place. Infantry horn side buttons implies pre-1875 date, perhaps as early as Civil War. No maker name. Pompom missing. (C) Cadet coat. Gray coat with black cording. Triple breasted, brass ball button. CONDITION: Good. 1 chevron in place, the other poor, partially detached, with loose bullion. Minor dust and dirt to coat. Likely early to mid-1900s.
