Numbered "0" on lugs, barrel, frame; right side lug and frame with 3 punched dots to match. Top of barrel assembly marked "E. Pierce" for Ebenezer Pierce. Primitive bead front sight on ring soldered to muzzle. Manually operated, with left lever opening the action and right cocking the action. Includes a Pierce bomb lance with cruciform with finned rear. CONDITION: Very good, especially considering the environments that these guns often operated in. Some casting marks throughout from manufacturing process, and with numerous from handling and use throughout. Brass has acquired a deep mustard tone, lighter in some places from rubbing and use. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with some fouling from use. Bomb lance head has even corrosion throughout, while the brass body has some flecked verdigris and flecked oxidation. EMW
