Type B Baby Nambu manufactured at the Koishikawa arsenal in Tokyo between 1903-1929. The frame is stamped with the Koishikawa arsenal symbol over the chamber, with the right side bearing Kanji characters denoting the model designation above the serial number "5677". Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, magazine latch button, recoil spring guide rod, barrel extension, locking block, bolt, cocking knob, striker spring guide, 2-piece checkered wood grips, as well as on the magazine. Right grip screw is not present. Pistol is accompanied by a custom period-made holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of oxidation on the frame, some surface oxidation on the grip straps, as well as a few minor handling marks overall. Strawed components show wear overall, with worn areas showing areas of age-related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting some areas of oxidation, but otherwise retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and scattered handling marks overall, with the left grip panel bearing a small chip. Holster is good, showing some scattered handling marks from storage and use, but otherwise appears sturdy and serviceable. A nice, all-matching example of a Baby Nambu pistol that was a sought-after war trophy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. MLW
