A German World War II Paratrooper Badge produced by the manufacturer JMME. The badge is made of 2 separate pieces, a nickel silver wreath, and a brass based diving eagle. The eagle retains none of its original fire gilding, and the wreath is also void of any of its original silver plating. The entire badge has been heavily cleaned at some point, leaving the retaining rivets on the reverse appearing soft and worn down. It should be noted that JMME did not follow the same pattern for their badges as the other manufacturers. JMME produced their Luftwaffe Paratrooper badges with silver wreaths instead of the regulation darkened wreath. The reverse of the badge is maker marked for JMME in the center of the eagle. The original hinge and pin are still originally attached to the badge, however the catch has been replaced with a clasp style device. CONDITION: Good. DMW
