A large Third Reich NSDAP sign being made of stamped steel, and measuring 35-1/2” tall and 31-1/2” wide. The obverse of the shield was painted red, and has a large left-facing eagle hand stenciled in the center with black and white paint. The red base paint has developed a fair amount of paint crazing and patina throughout, with some dark rust near the mounting holes. The hand stenciled eagle exhibits the same scattered crazing to the paint as the red base paint, but with much yellowing to the white paint. The reverse of the shield was primed with red primer, with scattered bubbling in areas where rust has formed under the primer. Scattered marks throughout. CONDITION: Very good. DMW
