Sharp's Model 1863 New Model rifled musket made by Sharps Rifle Manufacturing Company in 1865. 30" round .52 caliber rifled barrel with pinned front sight and graduated rear flip sight with barrel marked "NEW MODEL 1863". Case hardened single trigger percussion action marked with Sharp's patent dates of 1848 and 1852 with Lawrence 1859 patent. Walnut 2 piece full military stock with iron hardware including 2 piece patchbox, 3 barrel bands and nosepiece. CONDITION: Metal fading to a silvery patina with areas of corrosion and discoloration. Wood has been lightly cleaned with usage marks and dings and a small stress crack along comb on left side with illegible cartouches. Shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
