United States Model 1817 made by H. Deringer Philadelphia and converted to percussion in 1843 using the Belgian Method. 36" round 7-groove rifled barrel in .58 caliber with rifle sights, 2 iron barrel bands, and double strap front noseband. Marked "JH", "US / P" with tang dated 1843. Converted original flintlock with remnants of brass pan converted using the Belgian method, marked with "US / DERINGER / PHILA" and dated 1843. Walnut full military stock with iron hardware including butterdish patchbox. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning dark brown with light pitting. Wood turning a dark patina with no visible restoration or repairs. Dark bore with good mechanics. DLM
