Colt Single Action Army John Wayne Commemorative revolver, serial number CJWC1646. 4 - 3/4" round barrel chambered in .45 Long Colt with single line barrel address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Blued finish with gilt patriotic eagle on left side of barrel with "JOHN" on left side and "WAYNE" on right in ribbons. Right side of barrel is engraved with scrollwork and accenting gilt wriggle work on ejector rod housing. Cylinder is blue with a gilt rope border and John Wayne riding a horse on right side with a portrait of The Duke on the left side in his own vignette. Backstrap is embellished with a Red River D cattle brand near hammer and is marked with John Wayne's signature in gilt. 2 piece ivory grips. Complete with factory wooden display case with red suede interior, protective velvet sleeve for the revolver, John Wayne medallion, and plaque. Outside of case is inscribed to the 1983 Top Gun Eastern Regional Champion, Chuck Frendt, indicating this was originally given as a prize. Comes with factory letter of authenticity and original manuals. CONDITION: Excellent plus, and near mint, with virtually all of the original finishes remaining. Light storage freckling on hammer. Cylinder does not have a dragline. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Case is excellent.
