Manufactured circa mid 1980s and factory engraved by H. Humblet, signed on the left of trigger guard and rear right of the slide. As is engraved in ribbons on the frame this is number "490 of FIVE HUNDRED" "GOLD CUP CLASSIC" highly embellished commemorative Belgian made Browning Hi Power pistols produced. It features foliate engraving over stainless with some areas of background matted, and several relief gold details including an eagle attacking a lion, 2 eagle heads, and a bust of the inventor, John Browning. Standard 4 - 5/8" barrel, blade front sight, drift adjustable rear, and gold plated trigger. Grips are checkered walnut with scroll and dot decorations, making for overall excellent presentation. Pistol is housed in a hardwood Browning display case with a presentation plaque from Central Soya inscribed "CHUCK FRENDT/Great Lakes Division/1987 Top Gun" and factory paperwork. CONDITION: Excellent exhibiting only a few light marks from handling and display. Fine bore and mechanics. Case is excellent.
