Manufactured 1980. Iconic 8" barrel with vent rib, red insert ramp front sight, adjustable rear sight. Right side of barrel reads "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARFORD, CONN. U.S.A.", left side reads "PYTHON 357 / (Star) 357 MAGNUM CTG. (Star)". Colt VP proof and "Y" proofs on left side of trigger guard. Checkered walnut grips with golden Colt medallions. Housed in a generic blue plastic Colt box with other new and old manuals, list of authorized service stations, copy of Colt Companion, and a letter from Colt indicating a complete refinish in 2001. Original wood grain box identifying this gun on the side by serial number as an 8" nickel gun. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory reapplied nickel finish, with crisp legends. Some very minor marks from handling since refinish with most noticeable being a minor splotch on underside of hammer. Stocks are excellent with some extremely minor handling marks. Case is excellent, while box has some rippling from water damage and a break on right side, which has also gone through styrofoam. This is a highly attractive and iconic firearm.
