German Third Reich Veterans Organization gorget made of stamped aluminum sheet metal with brass based central Veterans Organization motif attached. The gorget base retains most of its bright polishing, with some areas of patina which has dulled it’s original luster. A separately attached gilded brass device consisting of Imperial German Standartes surrounding the Kyffhauserbund motto is originally affixed to the gorget’s base. Most of the original gilding remains intact. The central enameled Kyffhauserbund emblem has a pea size chip in the upper right hand corner. 2 gilded brass rosettes on the obverse hold in place the gorget's chain clips. The reverse wool backing of the gorget has been replaced at some time after the war. The original gorget chain clips are intact. The gilded chain is present, but is missing links. Chain measures 9” in length. CONDITION: Excellent. DMW
