Measures 17 - 7/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Kanmuri-otoshi-zukuri form with hi cut in the naginata-hi style, with top of bo-bi rounded and a very small soe-bi. Hada looks to be mokume, with a ko-midare hamon based on suguha with abundant nie, including a distinct deep turnback that nearly touches shinogi, ko-maru sagari. Nakago is signed on left side, but heavily softened and difficult to read; kiri nakagojiri. Single mekugi-ana, punched. Housed in a plain saya with kurikata and a second notch. CONDITION: Blade is very good in a good polish, with distinct features. Some spots of ware and some pinprick oxidation along mune, left side. Hi, especially soe-bi, are inexpertly cut and likely ato-bi. Saya is good and exists solely to protect the blade with damage mouth (no koiguchi) and no koijiri (exercise extreme caution to avoid damage as kissaki pokes out bottom), with tape having an old piece of newspaper affixed. A very attractive blade. EMW
