Standard configuration P.08 Luger manufactured by Mauser in the opening year of World War II. Receiver is stamped "1939" over the chamber with 2 Mauser "(Eagle) / 63" proofs as well as an eagle firing proof present on the right side. Toggle bears Mauser's "42" code. Metal components are salt blued and frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching with the exception of the grips and magazine. Pistol is accompanied by a "F.GROSSE/ DRESDEN/ RADEBEUL/ 1940" and "(Eagle) / WaA705" marked leather holster containing a spare unnumbered magazine and unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting light overall wear, with some concentrated areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas. Bore is bright, showing moderate oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and scattered impressions overall, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Holster shows wear all external wear overall, with some tearing to the stitching on either side of the flap. Extra magazine bottom is broken and missing one of it's "ears". MLW
