Circa 1983. 20 gauge 26" dovetail barrels, 2 - 3/4" chambers. Auto-ejectors, double triggers, automatic safety. Tapered smooth concave game rib marked "CHARLES BOSWELL ESTABLISHED 1869 LONDON" with brass front bead. Birmingham proofs on the flats along with importer "SAXON ARMS CLWTR FL". Bottom of the left barrel is marked "FIRST CHARLES BOSWELL MADE IN CANADA" and the forend loop is marked "MADE IN CANADA". The scalloped coin finished action has full coverage scroll and rose bouquet engraving, "BNP" under crown proof marks on the water table along with "BEST" and the serial number "146268". The nicely figured reddish-brown Turkish walnut straight hand grip stock has a vacant golden stock oval ending in a checkered butt. Splinter forend with Anson-style push-button release. Interior metal of forend is blacked with the serial number and a maple leaf. Weight: 5 lbs. 11 oz. Choke: L - IMP MOD., R - MOD. CONDITION: Very Good. Barrels retain 83-88% original black with use marks on left barrel and some silvering on both barrels at muzzle near rib. Buttstock and forend with handling marks. Bottom of the action body, trigger guard, and bottom strap retain approximately 95-98% black. Barrels are loose/off face. Mechanics crisp. Bores bright and shiny. Charles Boswell is a London-based company that moved to Toronto, Canada in 1983. According to the markings found on the underside of the left barrel this is the first Charles Boswell gun made in Canada. (CP)
