Measures 5" overall. 1 - 5/16" barrel with patent breech and straight rifling. Diminutive blade and notch sights on barrel. Marked "DERINGER / PHILADELa" over breech, barrel marked "MADE FOR / A.J. Plate / SAN FRANCISCO". Iron back action percussion lock with floral engraving and marked "DERINGER / PHILADELa", with fish form cock engraved en suite. German silver furniture with scroll engraving, including a pineapple finial off trigger guard. Birdshead grip with silver teardrop inlay. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel has visible "lightning" brown-and-silver finish with crisp legends and a few very minor spots of oxidation. Furniture is very good with some minor handling marks, crisp engraving. Lock is very good with an even chocolate patina and a little silvering towards bottom where index finger would rub. Stock is very good with some handling marks but free of cracks of chips. Mechanically fine, bore is very good. EMW
