Side-lever hammer action with case color hardened finish. The 27" octagonal barrel is fit with an extractor, has a machined surface on the top of the barrel that is marked "NEWTON MANCHESTER" towards the breech and carrying platinum lined rear sights that are dovetailed into the barrel. The sights consist of 1 "V" notched standing marked "50" and 2 folding leaves marked "100" & "150". Left side the barrel is marked "297/250". The silver tipped foresight is also dovetailed into the barrel. Snap forend with horn tip and English flat top checkering, pistol grip type stock with horn grip cap, English flat top checkering and serrated butt. Weight: 5 lbs. 1 oz. A box of ammunition labeled "KYNOCH .297/.250 ROOK SMOKELESS CARTRIDGES 56 Gns. HOLLOW BULLET" is included with rifle. CONDITION: Barrel's blackening has gone to a patina with spots of black remaining. The stock and forend have use/handling marks. It is the experts opinion that the receiver has been re-case color hardened. (CP)
