Circa 1968. A handsome 12 gauge black framed over-under game gun with 28" shiny blacked barrels. Barrels are built with ejectors, 2 - 3/4" chambers, matte ventilated rib, white mid bead and white front bead. Barrel reads "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST. LOUIS Mo. & MONTREAL. P.Q.", "MADE IN BELGIUM" on left and "SPECIAL STEEL - 12GA. - SHELLS 2 3/4"." "PATENTS No 2203.378-2.233861". Barrels are choked: Full and Three Quarter as indicated near breech with "*" and "**". Barrels nicely engraved with scrolls near breech. The boxlock action is built with a non-auto safe and barrel selector which is integral to its checkered safety slide. The black framed receiver is is engraved with scrolls and with gold flying pheasants on left wall and gold flying ducks on right. Both sets are in a decorative gold bordered wood vignette. Bottom of receiver is engraved with a flying gold quail. Engraver is "LEROY" as signed on left wall. The single gold plated inertia-driven trigger is protected by a blacked scroll engraved trigger guard. Trigger guard with vacant space for initials or crest. Top lever with matching scroll and is checkered at thumbpiece. The high gloss deep honey-colored feather crotched walnut stock has been built with a beautiful Fleur-de-Lis styled fine checkered round knob pistol grip and is finished by a black ebonite "BROWNING" buttplate. The traditional game forend has been built with fine and tight checkering. Gun comes in its original black "BROWNING" box, with snap caps and manual. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain mostly all of their original blue. Action, ejectors, and trigger all operate well with snap caps. Stock and forend with light handling marks (most likely from storage). Box is in good condition.
