Nice example of a World War II era Seth Thomas Mark I Deck Clock which was meant to be mounted on the wall of decks and engine rooms. The case is made of nickel plated brass and features a hinged bezel that is secured with a knurled screw fastener. The face is black and contrasts the orange/yellow numerals and the white painted brass hands. The face is marked “Mark-I Deck Clock / U.S. Navy / N 1448, 1939" and "Made By Seth Thomas In U.S.A." on the bottom. Once the case is opened, the back can be unscrewed which reveals the inner workings of the clock. The key is missing but was wound by hand and functions properly. CONDITION: The nickel plated case exhibits scattered scratches and blemishes. The glass exhibits scattered scratches and blemishes but is otherwise clean. Face exhibits scattered blemishes and the hands are missing some of the white paint with obvious cracking. Overall very good. JLD
