Lot consists of: (A) Remington-Elliot Zig-Zag ring trigger pepperbox derringer made circa 1861-1862. Less than 1000 units are estimated to have been produced. Revolver features a 6-shot barrel cluster that uses its name sake zig-zag slots at the rear to revolver. Chambered in .22 RF with pin sights on each barrel and a frame notch rear sight. Grips are smooth gutta percha. CONDITION: Good. Derringer exhibits a gray patina throughout with some areas of cleaned corrosion. Grips have some light marks with a repaired crack and chipping on the right panel. Bores are worn with some pitting. Good mechanics. (B) Remington-Elliot .22 RF 5 barrel pepperbox derringer manufactured during the 1860s and 70s. It features a stationary blued tip up barrel cluster with post front sight, iron frame, ring trigger, and smooth rosewood grips. CONDITION: Good. Barrel cluster exhibits a brown patina with frame a bright cleaned silver patina. Grips are very fine. Bores are fair having strong rifling and pitting. Action requires attention. PROVENANCE: Ex.
