Manufactured 1919. Half-moon front sight, U-notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with appropriate 3-line 2-block patent and address information with an encircled "REMINGTON / UMC" intercepting. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911 / U.S. ARMY CALIBER .45". "E" proof at above firing pin retaining plate channel, but it was struck slightly askew and looks like an "F", lacking a bottom leg. Barrel with "P" on hood, oriented to be read with muzzle up. Left side of dust cover marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". "E.E.C. and "(Eagle Head) / E28" near magazine release, with E28 slightly double stamped over the 8. Left side of trigger guard with "E" proof, right side with "20" subinspector. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety, relief cut slide release, magazine relase. Short 1911 grip safety, flat smooth mainspring housing. Mainspring housing does not have the appropriate "E" proof and is a replacement, unclear if field or later. 2-tone magazine with "B" on lip for Barnes production (poorly stamped, resembles an R). CONDITION: Overall good. Cold blue has been applied in several areas throughout the frame, primarily to straps and dust cover, but some of the distension is still visible around "E.E.C" proof where original finish was left untouched. Slide retains much, approximately 3/4" of bluing with most noticeable losses on right side of slide. Given wear patterns, slide release, safety, and grip safety are replacements, but period. Grips are modern reproductions. Mechanically fine, bore has frosting throughout. A good representative example. EMW
