Lot consists of (A) Rare .28 caliber Manhattan Firearms Co. 3-barrel pepperbox made circa late 1850s. Features include a manually turned cast steel 3" barrel cluster, bar hammer, engraved iron frame, and smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels exhibit an attractive chocolate patina, with frame a lighter gray brown color. Grips have some finish loss and impressions. Good bores and mechanics. (B) Scarcely encountered intermediate production Allen double action derringer with an estimated production of less than 200. Pistol features a .28 caliber half octagon turn off barrel, engraved frame, bar hammer stamped "ALLENS PATENT", and smooth walnut grips without spangles. CONDITION: Good. Overall pistol exhibits a pleasing brown gray patina. Grips are dark with some finish loss and impressions. Barrel appears to have been shortened but has a good shootable bore. Good mechanics.
