Lot consists of: (A) Manhattan Firearms Co. 6-barrel pepperbox made circa late 1850s in limited numbers. Features include a .30 caliber 4" blued barrel cluster, bar hammer, engraved iron frame, and smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Very Good. Barrel cluster retains traces of original blue in the flutes with balance a pleasing brown patina. Hammer retains portions of case colors. Grips are fine with some handling marks. Good bores and mechanics. (B) Circa late 1840s transitional standard size Worcester made .31 caliber Allen & Thurber pepperbox. Features include a 3 - 3/4" 6-barrel cluster, nonintegral engraved nipple shield, engraved frame, and smooth walnut grips with German silver spangles. CONDITION: Very Good. Bluing on barrels has turned to an attractive brown patina, with frame a brighter silver-grey patina. Grips have some minor marks. Good bores and mechanics. PROVENANCE: EX Rich Guckes. BAS
