Kentucky style percussion halfstock double rifle signed "J. Boesch" and dated 1884. Gun is of unknown origin, but Sellers lists a Gustav Boesch from Massachusetts, possible relation? Gun has 36 - 1/2" full octagon .40 caliber rifled barrels maker signed and dated with brass blade front sight with rear buckhorn sight. Back action percussion locks with illegible maker mark and double set trigger control. Walnut halfstock with brass hardware and original ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with metal having some surface rust and turning a brown patina. Brass has turned to a golden yellow patina. Wood has dark appearance with hunting dings and scratches. Dark but shootable bores with good mechanics. DLM
