Kentucky style percussion rifle similar to guns built in Western Pennsylvania and throughout Ohio and further Western Areas circa 1850. 32" octagon barrel measuring 1" across muzzle flats in .38 caliber with unusual smoothbore (possibly shot out) with rifle sights and several plugged dovetails with barrel having no markings. Percussion lock marked "Wolf & Lane Pittsburgh", lock makers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1850 to 1858 with double set trigger control. Curly maple full stock with brass hardware including a 4-piece patchbox with Western Pennsylvania style keyhole finial patchbox with nice line engraving and 5 piercings, double finger spur trigger guard, and engraved tailpipe. Comes with original looking ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good condition with no visible restoration. Brass finial is cracked and gun has most likely been set back during its lifetime. A nice gun. DLM
