Winchester M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle. Made April of 1943. Barrel is Winchester proofed but is undated. Operating rod, trigger guard, trigger group, and bolt are all "WRA" marked. Boxed "WRA/GHD" cartouche on the left side of the stock. Crossed cannons arsenal cartouche present as well. Circled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Early style gas plug and "lock bar" rear sight. Original parkerized finish on the metal components. Wood has its original light oil finish. Checkered metal buttplate with trapdoor. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with general wear and patina. Wood has a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is clean near the chamber, with some light frosting near the muzzle. Strong rifling retained. Muzzle reads at a 4, chamber at a 3. Mechanically fine. Hard to find in original World War II condition! JWA
