DSP. A very rare and early sign from Polarine Motor Oils showing excellent Polarine script throughout the field. CONDITION: Side one shows very good color and gloss throughout the majority of the field, showing some minimal surface scratching in the lettering as well as some moderate discoloration at the right edge. Side one shows some minor chipping along the outer edge but overall in very good condition, Grade 7.5. Side two is also in fair condition showing excellent script throughout the field but side two shows heavier areas of staining as well as surface scratching. Side two shows some very minimal chipping along the outer edge and although worn shows an excellent patina type look throughout, Grade 6.75 The flange portion of the sign is overall excellent showing only minimal spider webbing in the porcelain and shows all of its original Zinc grommets. Although worn the piece displays very well and is a nice example of early Standard Oil advertising.
