A unique restored Union Switch & Signal clockwork signal. The unit has been restored but not tested electrically. Cast iron housing contains mechanical and electrical components that operate the signal. Perforated markers mounted on a turning rod show signal indication, green or red. A square-bodied four-lens Peter Gray oil-burning switch lamp is mounted on top. The lamp has a brass fount marked "Handlan" that slides in, but is loose because it does not fit properly. A suitable Gray fount should be substituted when found. The lamp is marked "NYNH&HRR" and has deteriorated black paint, two red lenses and two green. One green lens is cracked. This unique clockwork signal is one of only two known to exist and is thus a rare and desirable unit for the signal collector. Included with this lot is a winding key and a group of documents detailing patents and provenance of this rare signal. Note: an extra spare part for this clockwork signal, Lot 1051, is available elsewhere in this sale.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 34" x 34" x 72".
