Lefever "Nitro Special" side by side shotgun built by the Lefever Arms Company, Ithaca, New York in 1925 and attributed to Lt. Gen Carson Abel Roberts. Roberts was a Marine Aviator and was Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific, from July 1962 to March 1964 Blued fluid steel barrels with matted rib and bead front sight and extractors. Gun upgraded with unknown aftermarket engraving including the addition of a gold Duck on right and a gold Pheasant on the left with double triggers and automatic safety. Original Lefever walnut checkered pistol grip stock with Redhead vented pad and black hard rubber grip cap. Walnut custom checkered beavertail forearm with latch release. Gun has label applied to stock with General's name and address, and the number "NC2377502" electropenciled under forearm on right barrel. CONDITION: 80% original barrel blue with action fading to a silvery patina with sharp full coverage floral and game scene engraving. Added sling swivel on barrel and stock (missing). Stock has heavy coat of applied varnish with some handling marks and dings. Good bores and mechanics. DLM
