Hi Power Mk.I* semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Inglis in Canada under contract for the Chinese Nationalist government during the mid-1940s. The left side of the slide is stamped "MK.I*" over "BROWNING FN 9MM HP INGLIS CANADA", with the right side bearing the serial number. Right side of frame bears a Canadian export proof. Serial number bears a "5" and "CH" serial number prefixing, indicating that this example was in the 5th series of Mk.I* pistols manufactured under contract for the Chinese Nationalist government. Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish, and frame is mounted with 2-piece black checkered synthetic grips. Internal components retain areas of older applied grease. Matching numbers on present on the frame, slide, and barrel. This example is accompanied by a "S.A. LTD./ 1944" marked stock. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their parkerized finish, exhibiting surface oxidation overall, with areas of silvering present on the edges. Bore is bright, exhibiting moderate oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered nicks and small impressions to the diamonds, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Stock shows some scattered handling marks overall, but is otherwise fine. MLW
