Standard configuration P.08 manufactured by DWM in 1915. This example was subsequently engraved and refinished, exhibiting bordered scrollwork on a punch dot background on either side of the frame, rear of frame, bottom of the trigger guard, as well as on the front & rear grip straps. Receiver and toggle bears en suite engraving, with the barrel exhibiting unbordered scroll engraving overall. Top of breechblock and top of receiver "ears" feature a matching line design engraving. Frame is mounted with 2-piece custom smooth ivory grips. Receiver is stamped "1915" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs present on the right side. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the grips and magazine. Magazine is of post-war Original Mauser production and features a black plastic bottom. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light silvering in a few places from operation of the action, as well as a couple spots of oxidation present beneath the finish. Trigger shows some light surface oxidation. Bore is bright as refinished, exhibiting some moderate oxidation beneath the finish and retaining good rifling throughout. Ivory grips exhibit a few minor superficial handling marks, but are otherwise fine. An attractive custom engraved DWM P.08 Luger. MLW
