Model 1885 single shot rifle chambered in .25-35 W.C.F. manufactured by Winchester circa the 1920s. Top of barrel bears Winchester's 2-line address, with the left flat bearing the caliber designation towards the breech. Rifle has been entirely restored, exhibiting rich case coloring on the frame, deep blue finish on the barrel, a contemporary buttstock & forend, as well as a new fully checkered buttplate. Barrel exhibits a light gold line at the breech as well as the muzzle. Features include a 30" heavy octagonal barrel, globe front sight, as well as a Marbles flip-up rear sight. Barrel exhibits tasteful scroll engraving at the muzzle and breech, with the lower 3 flats of the barrel exhibiting a line and checkered design. CONDITION: Excellent as restored, with metal components retaining virtually all of their reapplied blue and case color hardened finishes, save for some very light wear on the barrel edges. Frame retains vibrant case coloring, with scattered areas of pitting present beneath the finish. Bore is excellent, exhibiting sharp and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Wood furniture bears a few minor superficial handling marks overall, but is otherwise fine. MLW
