Manufactured 1936 as per accompanying Smith & Wesson letter, and was shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Co, St. Louis, Missouri with an 8 - 3/4" barrel, McGivern 1/8" gold bead sight, deep U-notch rear sight, blue finish, and checkered walnut grips with adapters attached. The handgun was sighted at 50 yards for a dead-center hold, and a 3# trigger pull. High polish blue finish. Partially lugged barrel with McGivern bead front sight, wide square notch rear sight, blued finish with normal legends, serrated case color hardened trigger. Case colored hammer with checkering across top. Top rib and top strap with anti-glare matting with short smooth strip along sighting plane, just in front of rear sight. Serial number visible on butt and inside crane recess. Registration number 773 on inside of frame. Magna grips with gilt medallions. Single action trigger breaks at a crisp 2 - 1/2#. CONDITION: Very good. Some silvering to muzzle, front of partial lug, and frame consistent with holster wear and range use. Trigger guard has some flasking of bluing on left side and light scratches. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. The Registered Magnum is legendary amongst revolver aficionados for their craftsmanship, which was so high that Smith & Wesson backed them with a lifetime warranty. Accompanied by a Smith & Wesson letter listing features and signed by Roy Jinks.
