Cased Josiah Ells late First Pocket Model Revolver made in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by Josiah Ells between 1857 and 1859. 3" octagon .31 caliber barrel with bead front sight. Blued later style flat floral engraved frame with 5 shot percussion cylinder and double action mechanism with hammer marked "ELL'S PATENT" and dated "AUG. 1 1854 / APRIL 28 1857". Walnut 2 piece grips. Comes in walnut red felt lined case with pewter pistol flask, brass mold, and percussion caps. CONDITION: Metal has faded to a brown patina with some surface corrosion. Grips are solid with traces of finish and small usage marks and dings. Dark bore with functioning mechanics. Case in good condition. DLM
