Circa 1967. A Ferlach Austrian made small bore game gun. The blued round 26" Bohler-blitz Steel barrels are fit with ejectors and a tapered machined ventilated top rib with a steel front sight. The bottom barrel has Austrian proof marks, serial number "40.2831" and "LB" inside an oval. The left side of the barrel near breach is engraved "Made in Austria". The coin finished scalloped frame is engraved with game scenes with grouse on the right side and pheasants on the left with supporting scroll. The blued trigger guard is engraved with the word "STAG'S" above a cottage. The double Kersten action is fit with disc set strikers, gold washed single mechanical trigger and non-automatic safety. The blued and engraved top lever thumbpiece is checkered on both sides and an engraved "S" ahead of the checkered and scored slide safe on the top tang. The honey-colored walnut buttstock with nice contrasting marbling is fit with a pistol grip with a horn grip cap, beaded cheekpiece to a plastic buttplate. The matching 3-piece forend has an engraved Deeley style lever release. CONDITION: Good. The barrels retain most of their original bluing. The rib is missing its middle bead with small hole remnant. The wood on the right side of the buttstock next to the tang is pulling away from the frame. Use/handling marks on buttstock and forend. CP
