Circa 1895. Vintage 16 gauge shotgun with 28" dovetail blued steel barrels. Barrels are fit with 2 - 1/2" chambers, ejectors, and wide machined flat top rib. Rib is fit with extension, small round white mid bead, and a larger round white front bead sight. Rib reads "- REMINGTON ARMS CO UNION N.Y. U.S.A -". Barrels read "REMINGTON" on top. Bottom of right barrel is stamped"6 12". Barrels flats stamped "119248" and lump is stamped "270". Chokes are Improved Modified and Improved Modified. Muted case-colored boxlock action is engraved "REMINGTON ARMS CO." on both sides of action. Watertable reads "119248". Top lever with checkered thumbpiece and safety slide is checkered. The word "SAFE" is in between top lever and safety slide. Gun is auto-safe. Action is built with double triggers. Triggers are protected by a muted case colored trigger guard. Guard extends bottom tang and is engraved with "119248" for serial number. Walnut stock with round knob semi-pistol grip is checkered. Butt of stock is finished by an older, vintage "Remington" hardened rubber checkered plate with Remington Arms Co. shield. Splinter forend with finer checkering is fit with an Anson-styled push-button release. Iron metal is case color hardened and with serial number on interior. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with approximately 70% remaining blue. Barrels with some imperfections to blue and with small dings on bottoms going towards muzzle. Action, trigger, and ejectors are sound. Stock is good with handling marks from use/age and seems to have benefitted from an earlier refurbishment. Forend is good with normal wear and tear from use and age. CP
