Lot consists of (A) US World War I Model 1918 Mark I trench knife marked "U.S. 1918 L.F. & C -1918" on brass knuckle handle. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a light gray patina with slight pitting and evidence of sharpening throughout. There are a few nicks in the edge of the blade and the knuckle points have been filed down. Overall good. (B) Luftwaffe aircrew Type II gravity knife with "SMF, SOLINGEN, ROSTFREI" marked on the blade. The blade release catch functions as it should. The blade is marked "910" while the blade release is marked "677" and the head and inner liner are both marked "389" indicating that the blade and blade release were replaced at some point. The undamaged spring is original to the knife, and has not be either repaired or replaced. The initials "R.H." are carved into the right grip. The steel lanyard ring is intact, and the spike is properly marked with a "R.B.NR. / 0/0561/0019". CONDITION: The blade remains bright with crisp markings. The blade remains bright but there is scattered pitting on the head, blade release, and inner liner. The wooden grips are correctly pinned and exhibit wear from handling. Overall good. JLD
