Mexican clip point bowie knife was manufactured and signed by "R.S. Aragon.Oaxaca.Rayon.39." The Aragon family from Oaxaca, Mexico made swords and knives for over 200 years. Large 10" clip point blade is acid etched with a lion about to attack a bull that is attempting to flee. On obverse side of the blade is a leaf and vine pattern and the writing: "Palomas No Se Hagan Bola Que Ahi Les Va Su Gavilan." Stag grips are original and in nice condition. CONDITION. Blade retains original sharpness to tip, shows scattered mossing spots while retaining deep and visible acid etch details. Bone handle shows beautiful patina and light handling wear. Brass pommel and retaining cap are solid and tight to tang. BRM.
