This rifle is one of the FN FALs imported by the Browning Arms Company between 1959 and 1963 and is listed in the ATF serial number blocks as being exempt. Left side of the receiver with "V F.A.L. cal. 7,62" marking ('V' faint). Selector switch designed so that it cannot rotate to the automatic selector. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, bolt, bolt carrier, pistol grip. Right side of receiver marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE_HERSTAL BELGIQUE". Adjustable protected post front sight, adjustable aperture rear sights. Walnut vented forearm. Ribbed plastic carrying handle. Long flash hider. Visible Belgian proofs throughout. Buttstock has "30" on underside, just behind lug. CONDITION: Fine overall, with some minor handling marks and scuffs, still retaining the vast majority of finish. Forearm has 2 small cracks on right side near screw hole, measuring approximately 3/4". Distinct silver line between selector positions, and a rub just starting to form at takedown lever. Buttstock is overall very good with some minor marks. Bore is excellent, bright, and shiny with well-defined rifling. Mechanically fine. G Series rifles are very desirable due to their rarity, and this one is no exception. EMW
